Thank you for visiting Seiz PotteryAfter 25 years of teaching and producing pottery I decided to start my "Collector Series" in the year 2005. This work is influenced by my study of the Art Pottery of the Arts and Crafts movement and the "Prairie School" style. The "Prairie School" style is typically defined as geometric, organic, or architectural. All of the pieces in this series are hand thrown, hand glazed, stamped and numbered. Only 75 unique pieces were produced in the 2005 and 2006 series. As I began the 2007 series, my goal was to continue to produce unique and experimental pieces true to the tradition of the Arts and Crafts movement. By creating one-of-a-kind pieces each year, I am able to emphasize quality over quantity. This keeps it interesting for myself and the collectors of my pottery. I will be introducing new pottery to this Web site whenever I unload new work from the kiln. If you would like to know when I list new pieces, please sign up for my mailing list. Thanks again for visiting, John Seiz Seiz Pottery NOTE: Our pottery produced with this matte glaze is not water tight or food safe. Do not put water directly into vase. If you wish to display flowers, use a sealed liner to protect your furniture from water damage. |
